Michael Hilgers

Michael Hilgers is a German furniture and interior designer who founded his design studio “Studio Michael Hilgers” in Berlin in 2001.

Always on the lookout for "the good idea"

Hilgers follows a minimalist design approach, where naturalness and function form the starting point.
His self-explanatory objects often open up unoccupied niches,
by connecting adaptively and symbiotically with their environment.

As a trained cabinetmaker and architect, his approaches and innovations arise primarily from the transitions between inside and outside, architecture and nature, and working and living.

I am convinced:

A product is all the better and more self-evident the fewer words are needed to describe the underlying idea.
